Recently, I've been listening to the audio book American Uprising: The Untold Story of America's Largest Slave Revolt by Daniel Rasmussen. It's really a fascinating story on one of the largest slave revolts in American History. However, my reasoning for posting this snippet from the book is the eerie Wall Street parallels that this story has on the position of privilege and entitlement that the planters felt being the current agricultural titans of industry that the were. If you just swap out planters for Wall Street and slaves for taxpayer you'll see the relationship is spot on. This is less of a racial correlation and more of a social one. This will only take 8 minutes of your time, but nevertheless 8 minutes well spent.
