This book is a revelation of the true essence of humankind.  It teaches and explains who or what the true "self" is.  It draws from the basic tenets of mind-body philosophy, psychology, spirituality and religion to give the reader a better understanding of  humankind's purpose and truth. Which is also the truth of all things, a truth we can all make our own, a truth that is within us; a truth that we can easily tap into simply by tapping into the present moment, the "NOW".  I do not want to comepletly give the contents of the book away but all I will say is,  it is phenomenal.  Though it was released over 10 years prior to Eckarts most recent famous, widely acclaimed, Oprah Booklisted and worshiped joint "A New Earth" I definitely recommend reading The power of Now prior to A New Earth.  THey are both excellent.
